A 41-year-old Singaporean man and his 38-year-old Malaysian wife were arrested at their rented home in Malaysia’s Melaka state for allegedly distributing vape liquids laced with drugs to schoolchildren.
The couple, married for just three months, was detained on Monday by the Jasin District narcotics team, according to Melaka’s Deputy Police Commissioner Dzulkhairi Mukhtar.
“Preliminary investigations indicate that the couple had been actively distributing various types of drugs in the form of vape liquids, pills and powders across the state over the past three months,” he said during a press briefing on Tuesday at the state police headquarters in Bukit Beruang, as reported by The Straits Times.

During the raid, police seized a variety of substances: 127.5ml of ketamine believed to be for vape use, 212 ecstasy pills, 212 Erimin 5 pills, 13.7 grams of methamphetamine, 10 grams of cannabis, and 80 grams of ketamine powder – enough to supply an estimated 786 users.
Authorities also confiscated a car and a motorcycle owned by the couple. The total value of the seized drugs and assets is estimated at RM32,650 (US$9,900). Both suspects tested positive for methamphetamine.
Dzulkhairi added that the narcotics were likely distributed through social media platforms and personal networks, The Star reported.
The couple is currently under a seven-day remand as investigations continue under Section 39B of Malaysia’s Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
