State officials say search warrants have been executed at CBD and vape shops in Wetumpka, Troy, Clanton and Enterprise.
According to Capt. Jeremy Burkett with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, the State Bureau of Investigation with the attorney general’s office and local law enforcement agencies, executed the search warrants on Monday, June 23.
Burkett says the operation followed a months-long investigation involving numerous complaints regarding certain cannabidiol (CBD) specialty stores and vape shops violating marijuana laws.
He said large amounts of marijuana and drug paraphernalia were seized and are now being inventoried.
A news conference is planned for Friday, June 27, to provide more details, Burkett said.
