Written by

RANDOLPH COUNTY, W.Va. — More tobacco and vape shops in the state have been caught selling illegal products to minors.

On Thursday, the Mountain Region Drug and Violent Crimes Task Force served search warrants at five different shops in Randloph and Upshur counties.

Several complaints came into police departments that people under the age of 18 had purchased Delta 8/9 and other illegal products from these shops.

Upon learning this information, a joint operation with the West Virginia State Police and several other departments, agencies, and task force officers was initiated.

The Drug Task Force seized around 500 pounds of illegal products from the five stores. The street value of the items totaled around $500,000. A large sum of U.S. Currency was also seized.

The investigation continues, and arrests will be forthcoming.
