ALLEN COUNTY, Ind. (WFFT)— Police say a dispute among teenagers over vape cartridges escalated into a shooting Wednesday afternoon near Fort Wayne in Allen County off Bass Rd.

The incident left one teenager wounded after being shot in the leg and leading to the discovery of stolen firearms.

Officers with the Allen County Sheriff’s Department responded to the 1000 block of Townsend Run around 4:15 p.m. after receiving calls about a fight among several juveniles, with reports that a firearm was involved and one person had been shot. Multiple individuals reportedly ran away before officers arrived.

Responding deputies found a male juvenile with a gunshot wound to the leg. He was transported to a local hospital and is expected to recover.

Investigators recovered a firearm at the scene, which was later determined to have been stolen.
