ALEXANDER COUNTY, N.C. (WECT) – The Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) provided assistance to the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO) in searching places that allegedly sold vape products to local schools.
Multiple search warrants were executed in Alexander County on June 26 after citizens informed law enforcement of illicit vaping products in the area, including at Alexander County schools.
The efforts were coordinated with the BCSO, the ACSO, the Taylorsville Police Department, and the North Carolina Secretary of State’s Office.
“This successful joint operation demonstrates the power of collaboration in keeping our communities and schools safe. We’re honored to stand alongside our law enforcement partners in this important work,” BCSO wrote on their Facebook page.
The following was found by law enforcement in local businesses:
- Taylorsville Tobacco and Vape: 1.6 pounds of marijuana and $5,516 in cash.
- Blue Ridge Tobacco and Vape: 1.8 pounds of marijuana and $1,938 in cash.
- Stony Point Tobacco and Vape Food Mart: 5.6 pounds of marijuana, $1,269 in cash, and a gun.
